5 star review Lost Track Of Time

Singer songwriter Suzy Dexter from regio Utrecht is named Susanne Dekkers. In 2006 she released her first full album “On The Moon”, that she recorded in the Park-A Studio, at her attic in her home. Suzy seems a rocking country chick and her looks match her music style. Together with Rob Hendriks she recorded for Lost Track Of Time 3 songs at home and the other seven have been recorded in Sander Van Herks Stustustudio. For the recordings a number of impressive musicians were attracted: Rob Hendriks(guitar & bass) , BJ Baartmans (electric en acoustic guitar), Marco van Os (doublebass), Sjoerd van Bommel (drums and backing vocals), Mike Roelofs(Hammond) en Gerard Kleijn (trumpet). Suzy has a very pleasant and warm voice and at the instrumentation and production there’s nothing to moan. Most of the songs are country like. “Deep Blue Love” has a Jazzy feel with a lead part for the trumpet. “Belly On Fire” sounds, also through the choir, like a gospelsong and “Sometimes I Lie”, has a South African sound. Valve “Back Off” is a bluesy song with a good screaming guitar. All songs written by Suzy. Unfortunately the lyrics are not included, now and then I struggle to hear her words but that is the only critic i can make up. An excellent album that is on repeat at Pater House. With some airplay Suzy could become a real big One.
