Review Lost Track Of Time

When you play Suzy Dexter’s record ‘Lost Track of Time’ without any background knowledge you might think this album was made in the swamps of Louisianna, or somewhere else in the southern American states; with a good oiled funk band and a singer whose voice can measure up to Blues-Rock divas such as Elkie Brookes, Bonnie Raitt or Susan Tedichi.  But Suzy Dexter lives in Utrecht and was born and raised in the countryside inbetween cattle traders.  Her first album was a real singer/songwriter’s record but on this one she gives everything.

The songs are good, the band is funky, the singer has pure soul and the driven music breathes passion right from the beginning to the end.  It includes Blues Rock, Funk, a bit of Country, a touch of Jazz plus the singer/songwriter allure. Here is an album that swings and bursts with energy.

She can rock with a sharp snap and can sound sultry but always stays funky thanks to the more than excellent band.  Suzy writes her songs, sings and plays guitar.
